Auckland secondary rugby teams pay tribute to Stephen Dudley
Two Auckland secondary school rugby teams paid tribute today to 15 year old Kelston Boys High rugby player Stephen Dudley, killed in a fight after rugby practice this week.
Teams from Kaipara College and Kristin School locked arms and stood silent for a minute on the pitch before kick-off in today’s 6th-grade tournament.
Dudley died of a suspected heart attack after a teammate and the player’s older brother allegedly beat him on Thursday evening at the end of rugby practice.
A 15 year old and 17 year old face assault charges, but may face more charges after police complete their initial inquries.
